Consistent with the approved Business Plan, the investment programme continued in all plants with interventions aimed at new products, improving production and energy efficiency, quality, safety and environmental protection, focusing on the transition towards decarbonisation.
Among the interventions carried out during 2024, the start-up of the Sora plant for the production of virgin fibre multilayer cardboard, suitable for food contact, was a crucial step to enter the cartonboard and flexible packaging sector.
On the energy front, in 2024 Burgo Ardennes activated a new photovoltaic plant, capable of producing about 9,157 MWh per year of energy for self-consumption. At the same time, the energy efficiency plan continued in all the Group's plants, in line with the goals of the ESG GO 2030 strategy.

Environmental sustainability and social responsibility have always been paramount in the Burgo Group's business approach. The Group commits maximum attention to these issues due to the intrinsic cultural and practical value of its product: paper.
