Description and specialisation

Established in 1906, the plant is situated in an area with a long history of papermaking within the Gardesana National Park, of particular interest to tourists, on the Brescia banks of Lake Garda. Care for the surrounding environment is a prime objective for the Toscolano paper mill that, with its modern effluent purification plant and respect for the severest environmental protection legislation has been granted EMAS registration. Furthermore, the plant was the first in Italy to be granted the FSC certificate for woodfree coated papers. The mill has also attaind PEFC certification.

The Toscolano plant is specialized in the production of coated (woodfree and wood containing), uncoated and film coated papers. Recent investments have further improved product quality at the plant and have included the complete reconstruction of the PM10, in particular the press section, the coating plants, the dryers and the steam plant, the sheet formation zone, the new dilution head box, the machine head purification and the further refining and automation of component dosage.

In late 2010 PM11 has stopped production.
