Description and specialisation

The Sarego paper mill was set up in 1971 and was initially equipped to produce uncoated printing paper. Important investments in sophisticated technology between 1991 and 1992 not only increased the production capacity but also allowed for conversion to a new line of production that is today represented by modern woodfree gloss, matt and satin papers.

The mill is equipped with a double wire paper machine with a dilution headbox, a shoe press, a pre–coater, a coater, two super calenders, two winding machines, five sheeters and a wrapping machine. The mill is powered by a Turbogas co–generating plant and recovery boiler and has an innovative waste water purification system.

The technological investments have led to a constant increase in production (65% in sheets and 35% in reels), which is set to exceed 123,000 tonnes per year.

The Sarego paper mill produces a complete range of woodfree gloss, matt and satin papers.

Annual strategic investments have allowed for improvements in efficiency, productivity and maintenance of the plant’s machinery.

The Sarego plant is also logistically well positioned at approximately 10 minutes from the A4 motorway.

The mill has attained FSC and PEFC forest certifications.
